Details are being finalized for Goleta’s Community State of the City event, 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at the Goleta Community Center (GCC), 5679 Hollister Ave.

This event, now in its ninth year, will have a new format, the city has announced. The mayor and entire City Council will all be addressing the city’s accomplishments and challenges. Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available and light refreshments provided.

“I am so excited for this year’s event and having all of the councilmembers join me in presenting the State of the City address,” said Mayor Paula Perotte. “If you love Goleta, this is a night you don’t want to miss.”

The Dos Pueblos High School Jazz Band will be returning to the gazebo in front of the GCC starting at 4:30 p.m. to welcome attendees.

Tyler McCutchen, Dos Pueblos High student and 2025 Teen Star finalist, who opened the event last year, will be singing and playing the keyboard during the mingling portion of the evening and as part of the main program.

The city will have information tables available and city staff will be on hand to talk about upcoming projects and programs.

Attendees can also mingle with the City Council, city staff, stakeholders and neighbors.

The main program begin at 6 p.m. with the State of the City Address, followed by a financial update from City Manager Robert Nisbet.

The program concludes with a Q&A session featuring city department directors.

Additional parking at the Goleta Community Center is available behind the building if there are no spots remaining in the front and side parking areas.
