A pedestrian was seriously injured in a Goleta vehicle collision early Tuesday morning, the Sheriff’s Office said.

At about 6:20 a.m., a vehicle hit the pedestrian on North Los Carneros Road near Covington Way, sheriff’s spokesperson Raquel Zick said.

The pedestrian was transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with serious injuries,” Zick said, adding that the vehicle driver “remained at the scene and is cooperative.”

The victim’s name and details on their condition were not available.

Investigators closed North Los Carneros Road between Calle Real and Cathedral Oaks for several hours and reopened the street around 9:30 a.m.

Driving under the influence is not a factor in the collision, Zick said.

No additional information was available.
