Explore Ecology invites community members to participate in the first cleanup of 2025, 10 a.m.-noon, Sunday, Jan. 12 at Arroyo Burro Beach (Hendry’s Beach).

Meet in front of the Watershed Resource Center (blue building), 2891 Cliff Drive, to sign in. The Watershed Resource Center will be open during the cleanup for participants to view the center’s interactive displays and learn to be better watershed stewards.

Participants will receive a coupon for a free cup of chowder from the Santa Barbara Shellfish Co.

Volunteers can bring their own cleanup supplies, or Explore Ecology will have buckets, plastic bags, and reusable or disposable gloves available.

Cleanups will be self-guided and can include the beach, the parking lot, or the open spaces surrounding Arroyo Burro.

Community service volunteer hours are available for this outdoor volunteer opportunity.
