
Imre Homer passed away on March 9, 2026 in Budapest, Hungary. He was born on April 28, 1954 in Budapest.
In 1957 his family escaped communist-controlled Hungary following the 1956 revolution. They settled in the Bay Area in Northern California.
Imre attended Jefferson High School, where he developed his lifelong love of cars and auto mechanics. He attended San Francisco State University, where he also developed his passion for cross-country running. He then attended California State University Long Beach.
Imre married Deborah Mills in 1979 and had two children. In 1987 they moved to Lompoc, California. He settled into a career as a financial planner.
He returned to Budapest in 2005, where he spent his remaining years. There he found a new calling mentoring young entrepreneurs.
Imre loved American muscle cars, running, and spending time at the beach.
He is survived by Deborah and their two children Katrina (Austin) and Richard; three grandchildren, Jack, Jesse and Ilona; sister Helen; and long-time partner Hilda.
A celebration of Imre’s life will be held in Budapest. In his honor, spend some time outside on a hike, a run, at the beach, or at work on a car.
