A bicycle rider was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after a collision with a pickup truck in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.
Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 5 p.m. to Micheltorena and De la Vina streets, where they found the cyclist who had suffered a likely broken leg, Battalion Chief Jon Turner told Noozhawk.
The male rider was treated at the scene by paramedics, then transported by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
His name and details on his condition were not available.
The pickup driver remained at the scene after the crash, which was under investigation by the Santa Barbara Police Department.
