Crews rescued an injured hiker off the San Ysidro Trail near Montecito on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Montecito Fire Protection District.
The male hiker was found about two miles up the trail, according to a statement from the department.
The man was found by another hiker who texted her husband by satellite and asked him to call 9-1-1.
Montecito Fire received the call for help at about 12:25 p.m. County Air Support Unit Copter 308 responded to the scene and airlifted the man to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The man’s name and details on his injuries and condition were not available.
