
With loving hearts, we announce the passing of Joel Harwin, who was born April 18, 1942, and spent his life touching the hearts of those around him with warmth, humor and kindness.
Joel grew up in Santa Barbara and graduated from Santa Barbara High School with the Class of 1960.
He went on to graduate from the University of Southern California, an alma mater he remained proud of throughout his life.
After college, Joel returned home to work in the family business Harwin Jewelers, where he dedicated many years to serving his community. He took great pride in his craft and in the trust his customers placed in him, building relationships that lasted decades.
Outside of work, Joel pursued his passions with enthusiasm. He was an avid coin collector and served as president of the Santa Barbara Coin Club, sharing his knowledge and love of the hobby with others.
He was also a devoted and proud supporter of UCSB Gauchos Basketball, cheering on his team with unwavering spirit.
Joel is survived by his two children Scott Harwin and Myla Harwin; and by his wife Linda Muzinich.
Joel will be remembered for his steady presence, his generous nature, and the way he made people feel welcome and valued. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories shared by those who loved him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
