Joseph Michael “Mike” Garcia passed away on June 21, 2022, at the age of 68. He was a beloved father, son, brother, uncle and great uncle.

Mike was born on October 24, 1953, in Lompoc, California, to Erma B. Garcia and the late Leon T. Garcia. He lived almost his entire life in Lompoc, except for the 12 years that he lived in San Diego, California.

Mike enjoyed going to concerts, listening to music and taking his dog, Charlie, to the beach. He also enjoyed building motorized bicycles and eating his sister Rosemary’s leftovers.

He is survived by his mother Erma B. Garcia; his three sisters, Chris Budny (Dan), Marge Hampton (Kenny) and Rosemary Alvarez (Abe); his nephews, Mike Huckins Jr. (Tonda) and Jesse Hampton; his nieces, Shellie Davis (Danny), Celeste Robles, Alisha Robles and Sarah Hampton; great-nephews Dylan Davis, Caleb Cochrane, Kenneth Hampton and Sidney Hampton; and great-nieces Ava Davis and Vienna Huckins.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Leon T. Garcia; his nephew, Jon-Paul Budny; and his two dogs, Cecil and Mitch.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at American Legion Post 211, 636 N. H St. in Lompoc.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc.
