It feels like the old days.
The rain that fell over Santa Barbara County the past couple of days brought a steady flow, far different from the barrage of storms that filled Lake Cachuma last month.
Coastal areas received about half an inch to one inch of rain, while some mountain areas received about three inches.
“We are gonna continue in this showery pattern a little longer,” said Rose Schoenfeld, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Oxnard. “We are expecting rain to continue into Sunday.”
There’s a 70% chance of rain Saturday evening, with chances diminishing into Sunday morning.
Schoenfeld said the winds are expected to pick up again, with gusts reaching 30 mph.
“We are going to see a resurgence of winds,” she said.
This most recent storm hit northern California harder because of its unusual trajectory, Schoenfeld said.
Another small storm is expected Tuesday evening through Wednesday, with a 50% chance of rain.
The break in the rain was a welcome relief Saturday as people hit the beaches, parks and outdoor areas to enjoy the sun before the expected evening rain.
A month ago, storm set a daily rainfall record of 2.39 inches at the Santa Barbara Airport, forcing the airport to close for a period due to flooded runways.
