The local girls basketball scene this winter featured standout student-athletes across town, from the Goodland to the Thunderhut to downtown Santa Barbara.

As a result, the Dos Pueblos Chargers, San Marcos Royals and Santa Barbara High Dons each earned several All-Channel League selections.

Dos Pueblos (19-12, 11-3 CL)

Senior Carly Letendre and sophomore Kindah Ahmad-Reda led the way for the Chargers on both ends of the court on their way to All-Channel League First Team selections.

Meanwhile, junior Asha Nayak and freshman Charlotte Gardiner played critical roles in Dos Pueblos’ success with All-League Second Team seasons.

Freshman Penelope Frazer got her high school career off to a strong start, earning an All-League Honorable Mention nod.

San Marcos (16-9, 9-5 CL)

Sophomore Jada Ahmad filled up the stat sheet to help lead the Royals to third place in the Channel League, earning a spot on the All-League First Team.

Junior Lily Ruvalcaba held it down in the painted area for San Marcos and was rewarded with an All-Channel League Second Team selection.

The junior pairing of Izzy Schow and Selena Valencia gave Royals’ fans something to look forward to next season with All-League Honorable Mention showings.

Santa Barbara High (2-26, 0-14 CL)

Junior Shea Gannon accounted for the majority of the Dons’ offensive success this season and represented the team on the All-Channel League Second Team.

Freshman Amelia Lopez rounded out the local girls basketball honorees as an All-League Honorable Mention.
