The Lompoc Family YMCA will open its 2025 Annual Campaign in February with a fundraising goal of $110,000.
All funds raised during campaign will work to help the community through outreach programming, providing financial assistance to those in need and access to programs/services.
Leticia Leon, board member, was selected to chair the campaign and ensure the fundraising goal is met. Leon said she supports the campaign because of how important the Y is to her family and community.
“The Y has given so much to my family, so it’s a privilege to give back,” she said.
The campaign kicks off Thursday, Feb. 6 with a mixer event at the YMCA in collaboration with the Lompoc Chamber of Commerce. The event is open to the public and chamber members. Food, raffles, networking, and tours of the facility will highlight the event.
This year the Y will be recognizing two honorary chairs. Dan and Liz Powell, who have held professional and volunteer roles within the Channel Islands YMCA organization. Dan served as the executive director some 14 years, and Liz helped to serve in various volunteer roles.
“We love Lompoc. It was my first executive position. We raised our kids and grew our family in Lompoc. The community is near and dear to our hearts,” shared Dan Powell.
Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization (LVCHO) has been recognized as honorary chair. Recently, LVCHO and its executive director Ashley Costa celebrated 25 years as an organization, one of its longtime partners has been the Y.
”LVCHO is the gold standard in the Lompoc area,” said Tommy Speidel, YMCA regional executive director. “LVCHO and the Y have partnered on countless iniatives to help support the community and we’re pleased to recognize them this year for their service.”
