A man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries on Monday after a vehicle crash over the side of Highway 154, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department said. 

The vehicle ended up about 20 feet below the highway near Stagecoach Road and East Camino Cielo at 3:23 p.m., fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said. 

The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and walk to the roadway, he said. 

The patient was transported by American Medical Response ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with minor injuries. 

One eastbound lane of Highway 154 was temporarily closed during the response, Safechuck added.
