A pedestrian sustained minor injuries after being struck by a car in the U.S. Bank Parking lot in the city of Santa Barbara Saturday morning, according to Santa Barbara City Fire Department Battalion Chief Jon Turner.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital by American Medical Response.
Emergency personnel first responded to a report of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on E. Carrillo St. at around 8:57 a.m.
Initial reports said the collision may have been in the area of the Santa Barbara Farmers Market, but arriving crews found that “someone had essentially run into a person in the parking lot of the U.S. Bank at Anacapa and Carrillo” streets, Turner told Noozhawk.
The pedestrian had been sitting on a sandstone wall by the sidewalk when the car knocked her over after it left a parking spot, Noozhawk photographer Peter Hartmann reported from the scene.
