Santa Barbara MTD’s 8th Annual Youth Art Poster Contest held this spring attracted 120 entries from local students in grades one through. The contest theme was Nature Buses.

The winning works of art will be featured inside MTD buses for the next year, starting in July. Submissions were voted on by MTD employees.

Participating sites included several South Coast after-school programs and libraries. Entries came from the Eastside, Central, and Carpinteria public libraries; city of Santa Barbara RAP Program; Carpinteria and Greater Santa Barbara Girls, Inc.; and the Downtown Santa Barbara, Carpinteria, Westside, & Goleta Boys & Girls Clubs.

First-Third Grades
 
First place – Brinley Kiefer, third grade, El Camino School, Girls, Inc. of Greater Santa Barbara.
Second place – Noemi Espinoza Aguilar, second grade, Santa Barbara Community Academy, Santa Barbara Central Library.
Third place – Genesis Esparza, third grade, Girls, Inc. of Carpinteria.
Honorable mention – Diallo Ryser, first grade, Canalino School.
 
Fourth-Sixth Grades
