Fish for Life, a nonprofit program that provides complimentary fishing trips for children with disabilities, is expanding to Santa Barbara.
The young anglers, ages 8-21, are invited to a day of fishing, Saturday, July 20 at Santa Barbara Landing; check-in time is 8 a.m.
To register a child online, visit www.fishforlife.org, click on the Chapter Locations tab, and select Santa Barbara. Each child must be accompanied by a chaperone.
Fishing day highlights:
· Everyone receives a T-shirt at check-in to wear on the trip.
· Opening ceremony, 9 a.m. with speakers and red-carpet introductions.
· Guests will be boarding the sportfishing vessels Stardust and Coral Sea.
· Lunch, appetizers, beverages included.
· Harbor Patrol escort out to sea.
· All participants are paired with an experienced fishing team leader.
· Tackle provided; no fishing license required.
· Awards ceremony after return to dock.
