One person was arrested and another was taken to the hospital Friday night after a hit-and-run collision in downtown Santa Barbara, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
A white pickup truck was westbound on Cota Street at about 9:45 p.m. when it rear-ended two vehicles that were stopped at the traffic signal at State Street, police Commander Charlie Katsapis told Noozhawk.
The driver then fled on foot northbound on the 600 block of State Street, Katsapis said.
A witness, reportedly an employee of nearby Joe’s Cafe, gave chase and caught the driver on the first block of East Ortega Street.
Responding officers took the man — identified as Ryan A. Hill, 50 — into custody, Katsapis said.
He was booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of drunken driving and hit-and-run with injuries, both felonies, Katsapis said.

Hill remained in custody on Saturday, with bail set at $100,000.
One of the drivers of the vehicles that were rear-ended sustained minor injuries, Katsapis said, and was taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Their name and details on their condition were not available.
The incident remained under investigation.
