Emiliano Ramirez dominated at the plate and closed out the game on the mound as Santa Barbara High baseball pulled out a 4-2 non-league win over Arroyo Grande on Friday at Eddie Mathews Field.
Ramirez went 2-for-3 at the plate, including a solo home run and a two-run single, and tossed two scoreless innings to earn the save.
After a scoreless top of the first, Ramirez roped his two-run single and Everett Rabb-Preston knocked in a run on a single of his own to give the Dons a 3-0 lead after the first.
Arroyo Grande answered with two runs in the top of the second, but Santa Barbara High starter Jack Paskin settled in from there. He struck out five batters and allowed just the two runs in five innings of work.

The 3-2 score held for the majority of the game until the sixth inning, when Ramirez blasted his solo homer over the left-field fence to give the Dons some insurance.
Ramirez then took the mound in the seventh and induced a game-sealing double play for the victory.
Birmingham Charter 4, San Marcos 2
The Royals fell on the road to Birmingham Charter in a non-league contest on Friday.
San Marcos opened the scoring with one run in each of the first two frames courtesy of RBI singles by Mason Crang and Landon Johnson.
Birmingham Charter cut the deficit in half with a run in the bottom of the second, and the 2-1 score held until the fifth inning.
In the fifth, Birmingham Charter took the lead on a run-scoring single and a passed ball. The hosts added on an insurance run in the sixth and slammed the door on the Royals in the seventh.
Herbert and Monson each had two hits for San Marcos, which ended the game with five more hits than Birmingham Charter.
