San Marcos baseball stayed hot with a 7-3 victory over Ventura High on Tuesday at Joe Mueller Field in Santa Barbara.

The Royals (5-4, 4-1 Channel League) have now won four consecutive league games and sit tied atop the league standings with Pacifica and Dos Pueblos.

David Burkholder twirled a complete game for San Marcos, allowing two earned runs on six hits while striking out two along the way.

Meanwhile, Alex Bagaw went 3-for-3 with two runs scored and made a diving catch in left field.

Patrick Foster, Quinn Melton, Miles Herbert and Will Wrenn each tallied a pair of hits in the victory as well. Wrenn drove in a pair of runs and scored twice, while Foster drove in two runs of his own.

San Marcos will head down the 101 to take on Ventura again on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Rio Mesa 4, Santa Barbara High 1

The Dons dropped their league matchup with the Spartans on Tuesday in Oxnard.

Santa Barbara High’s lone run was the first of the game, as Emiliano Ramirez roped a solo home run over the left-field wall.

Rio Mesa answered with a run in the bottom of the second and three in the third to round out the scoring.

The Dons will look to bounce back at home against the Spartans on Friday at 3:30 p.m.

Pacifica 11, Dos Pueblos 2

The Chargers struggled to keep up with the Tritons in a league loss on Wednesday at Scott O’Leary Field in Goleta.

Noah Connolly provided an RBI single for Dos Pueblos to score Stone Saunders, while Logan Pearce hurled three shutout innings of relief.

The Chargers (11-2, 4-1 CL) will head to Oxnard for a rematch with Pacifica on Friday.
