Bella Nuño’s grand slam highlighted a 14-run second inning to lead Dos Pueblos to a 17-0 rout of Pacifica in a Channel League softball win Tuesday.

The home run was Nuño’s fifth in six games. She also hit a run-scoring double in the first inning to finish with five RBI.

Riley Monroe went 3-for-3 with three RBI, as the Chargers pounded out 16 hits — including six in a row to start the second inning.

Pau Avina, Mia Reveles, and Georgia Wilson each collected two hits. Katelyn Lisi led the defense with some strong plays at second base, including a diving stop in which she threw a runner out from her knees.

“We did a great job at the plate today,” Charger coach Mike Gerken said. “We were patient and took good swings. I am proud of our approach in the batter’s box. Hopefully we can carry this forward throughout league.”

The Chargers are now 2-0 in league play and 3-3 overall.

Bishop Diego 11, Coastal Christian 1

Anna Fittipaldi drove in five runs to lead Bishop Diego to an 11-1 win over Coastal Christian Tuesday.

The Cardinals got off to a strong start, scoring five runs in the first inning, including a homer by Tessa Johansen. Lauren Weeks, Fittipaldi, Lucy Plowman and Sarah Fellers each drove in runs during the inning.

Fittipaldi also had a double in the fifth and a stolen base in the sixth.

Madeline Ferries pitched all six innings for Bishop Diego, allowing one run on nine hits and striking out two.

The Cardinals scattered 15 hits in the game and committed no errors. Fittipaldi and Weeks each had three hits, and Chelsea Hayes and Johansen also had multiple hits. The team stole eight bases, with Hayes leading the way with three.
