The Ricardo Valencia for Supervisor Campaign invites District 5 residents and community leaders to the campaign launch event, 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, Dec. 13 at UDW Hall, 402 Miller St., Santa Maria.
Valencia is a candidate for Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, 5th District.
“Valencia, a current Santa Maria-Bonita Elementary School District Board member and lifelong North County resident, is running to bring a strong, unified voice for working families, students, and historically underserved communities to the County Board,” according to the campaign statement.
Supporters are asked to RSVP at tinyurl.com/d5kickoff.
“Santa Barbara County has become unaffordable for the people who make it work like teachers, nurses, farmworkers, first responders, and small business owners,” said Valencia.
“I’m running to be a supervisor who will prioritize affordable housing, environmental justice, and community safety in the Fifth District,” he said.
“We are building a grassroots coalition and I urge everyone who believes in a stronger, fairer Santa Barbara County to join us at the launch and help us start this movement,” Valencia said.
