Roy ‘Bill’ Hepp, Jr.

Roy “Bill” Hepp, Jr., a devoted father, grandfather, veteran, and dedicated volunteer, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Carpinteria. He was 92 years old.

Born on July 27, 1933, in Yonkers, New York, Bill lived a life defined by service and compassion. From 1951 to 1954, he served his country with honor as a Marine during the Korean War, earning the Purple Heart medal for his bravery and sacrifice.

Upon returning home, he pursued higher education through the GI Bill, earning an MBA and later an MSFT. Bill went on to work for the County of Los Angeles for over 30 years as a computer analyst.

Bill’s life was enriched by his many passions and acts of generosity. A talented photographer and committed volunteer with the Red Cross, he dedicated himself to causes that mattered deeply to him.

In 1994, he participated in the inaugural California AIDS Ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Later, in support of his beloved wife Reggie, he volunteered for the Avon Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk from Santa Barbara to Santa Monica in 1998, 1999 and 2000.

His compassion extended beyond his community when he traveled to New Orleans to assist with Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.

He is survived by his daughter Donna and her husband Paul; son Curt and his partner Richard; step-son John and his wife Silvia; grandson Matthew and his wife Melissa; grandson Michael and his wife Kelly; and granddaughter Jennifer. He was predeceased by his cherished wife Regina “Reggie” M. Hepp.

Bill will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, generosity toward his grandchildren, and unwavering dedication to helping others. May he now be reunited with Reggie in eternal peace. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
