San Marcos girls basketball bounced back from a slow start to earn a 54-51 win over Roosevelt in the Norco Extravaganza on Saturday.

The Royals struggled out of the gate, falling behind 28-23 heading into the halftime locker room.

However, San Marcos continued to battle throughout the second half and took its first lead of the game with four minutes on the clock and never let it go en route to the win.

Selena Valencia powered the second-half comeback for the Royals, scoring 14 of her team-high 16 points and providing strong rebounding in the final two quarters. Meanwhile, Jada Ahmad chipped in 11 points.
