The San Marcos swim team earned a Channel League sweep of Oxnard High in a dual meet on Monday in Oxnard.

The Royals’ boys team came out on top by a score of 96-64, while the girls team took care of business to the tune of an 89-71 victory.

Dunkan Hunt turned in stellar performances in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke to lead the San Marcos boys team.

“Dunkan has improved so much since his sophomore year when he joined the team,” San Marcos coach Chuckie Roth said. “He is posting big times and doing amazing things. He will be instrumental as we aim for a league championship and compete at CIF and State.”

Meanwhile, Jacob Angel captured victories in both the 500 freestyle and 200 IM races for the Royals.

“Jacob Angel is a true leader of the team. His positive attitude and contagious energy make all around him better,” Roth said.

On the girls side, San Marcos’ Amelia Blouin led the way in the 500 freestyle, while Anna Holmes shined in the 100 backstroke and as the anchor of the 4×100 relay team.

“[Blouin’s] swim was pivotal in the team’s success. She was our only competitor. She paced it strategically and had a personal best time,” Roth said. “[Holmes] has become a mainstay in the varsity lineup. Her confidence and ability to perform under pressure have grown so much.”

The Royals (2-0) will take on Pacifica in another league meet on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
