Santa Barbara City Fire crews responded to a confirmed structure fire Friday morning at El Encanto Hotel.
Crews arrived on scene at 800 Alvarado Place around 9:08 a.m. to find smoke coming from the roof of one of the detached cottages on site, officials said.
They were able to get the fire out just before 10 a.m., according to Jon Turner, Battalion Chief with the Santa Barbara City Fire Department.
Crews then conducted salvage and overhaul operations, meaning they protected items from smoke and water and looked for any embers hidden in the attic of the cottage.
Turner could not provide details about the extent of the damage but said it was a small fire and the cause is under investigation.
He said 18 personnel responded to the fire including city crews, Santa Barbara County Fire engines and American Medical Response ambulances.
No injuries were reported in the incident, Turner said.
