Santa Barbara High girls beach volleyball dominated its way to a 5-0 sweep of Bishop Diego on Thursday at Bishop Diego.

“There were some good battles at the ones and threes court, especially, and overall our pairs all performed strongly,” Santa Barbara High head coach Kristin Hempy said.

The Dons’ top duo of Lola Heckman and Kira Elliott battled to a 21-15, 21-12 win in their matchup, while Blake Saunders and Paylin Marcillac made quick work of their opponents on court two, 21-6, 21-9.

The No. 3 Santa Barbara High pairing of Stella Peus and Jacqueline Durling shook off a first-set loss en route to the win, 19-21, 21-16, 15-4.

Meanwhile, Grace Costner and Talia Yoshimi of the Dons earned a 21-16, 21-13 win at the fours, and Gabby Cajuste and Phoebe Peterson rounded out the sweep with a 21-10, 21-9 victory.

Santa Barbara High (7-4, 3-1 Channel League) will be on the road against Oxnard on Friday.
