Due to forecasted rain and safety considerations for attendees, exhibitors and animals, Santa Barbara Humane is postponing the Santa Maria Car Show scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 16.
The event was set to take place 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Maria Campus, 1687 W. Stowell Road. A new date will be announced soon, organizers said.
“We are grateful for the incredible enthusiasm from the Santa Maria Valley community, our car clubs, vendors, and volunteers,” said Paige Van Tuyl, Santa Barbara Humane chief philanthropy officer. “Your support means so much.
“While we are disappointed to postpone, keeping everyone safe and comfortable is our top priority. We look forward to celebrating together when the weather cooperates.”
All vendors will be contacted directly once details are confirmed for a new date. Updates will also be shared at sbhumane.org and on Santa Barbara Humane’s social media channels.
Although the car show and related outdoor activities will not take place this weekend, Santa Barbara Humane’s Santa Maria Campus will hold the scheduled walk-in vaccine clinic, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and offer 50% off adoptions for most animals.
The campus remains open for adoptions, noon-4:30 p.m. daily except Wednesdays.
Community members who wish to support local pets can donate food and supplies to Santa Barbara Humane’s Pet Pantry, which helps families keep animals healthy and at home.
The pantry has seen a significant increase in demand, and donations of dog and cat food are urgently needed,” Santa Barbara Humane said.
