The Santa Barbara Pony Baseball 12U All-Stars continued their stellar summer with a SoCal North Region District 3 championship on Monday in Camarillo.

Santa Barbara rolled through the tournament, going 4-0 and taking down the Camarillo Red 12U All-Stars by a score of 6-2 in the title game.

The Pony All-Stars will return to Camarillo this weekend to compete in the Section 2 Tournament as they look to keep their season alive.

In the four SoCal North Region tournament games, Santa Barbara scored a whopping 41 runs on 40 hits with a team batting average of .381.

The tandem of Calvin Firestone, Ozzy Whitworth, Colton Bryant and Frank Brostrom all came in clutch on the offensive end to lead the potent attack.

On the mound, Santa Barbara recorded a microscopic team ERA of 1.00 while holding opponents to a batting average of just .196.

Nick Perez and Firestone each earned two wins in the Region District tournament, allowing just four earned runs over their combined 14 ⅔ innings.

The starting duo was backed up by 9 ⅓ scoreless frames from Bryant, Whitworth, Ian Martinez and Isaac Navarro out of the bullpen. Navarro, the team’s starting catcher, closed out both the semi-final and championship games.

In Monday’s title game, Santa Barbara erupted for six runs in the first inning as Whitworth, Colton, Bryant, Perez and Zephyr Miles all drove in runs.

From there, Firestone dominated on the bump by allowing two runs and striking out five in 5 ⅔ innings. Bryant and Navarro pitched in relief to earn the win.
