The Santa Barbara Royals Ice Hockey team wrapped up their stellar season with a State Championship Runner-Up Finish on Sunday at The Rinks in Anaheim.
The Royals fell to Edison High in the championship battle by a score of 1-0 as Edison scored with just 51 seconds left on the clock to earn the title.
After dropping its first game of the season, Santa Barbara rattled off 21 straight wins before Sunday’s championship loss. The Royals captured their LA Kings Hockey League title along the way.
In the state tournament, the Royals won four games before the championship, taking down Burbank (7-2), Fairmont (5-1), Oakland East (4-3, OT) and Valley Christian (3-1).
Caden Walsh led Santa Barbara with five goals across the four games, while Everett Kuhm scored four of his own.
