The Santa Barbara School of Squash captured the SoCal Squash Junior League championship for the first time in 10 years last weekend in San Diego.
The quest for the SoCal Squash Junior League title began when the league season kicked off in October.
The Santa Barbara YMCA team of Marshall Graham (Laguna Blanca), Elias Paredes (Dos Pueblos), Josh Gomez (Laguna Blanca), Benjamin Garfias (Laguna Blanca) and Kevin Castillo (Laguna Blanca) came together to win the championship.
They took down Access Youth Academy Two of San Diego by a score of 5-0 in the semifinals, and followed that up by pulling out a 3-2 victory over Access Youth Academy One.
Castillo, Paredes and Graham all earned wins for Santa Barbara in the championship matchup.
Individually, Graham continued to roll by clinching his third straight Southern California Junior championship in the gold division.

Meanwhile, Garfias came out on top of the pack in the silver division while Castillo and Josh Santiago (Santa Barbara High) placed third and fourth, respectively.
In the bronze division, Sammy Valencia (San Marcos) represented Santa Barbara with a third-place showing.
