St. Joseph High School proudly graduated about 105 students in Orcutt on Thursday during its 57th commencement.
Lucas Mayes is valedictorian and Paige Beal is salutatorian for the class of 2024.

Graduation student speakers included Beal, who also received an Excellence in Leadership Award, and Jasmine Osorio, who received the Christian Service Award from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles with 453 hours.
Braeden Rappozo also received the Christian Service Award with 322 hours.
This year’s class was offered $9.7 million in scholarships, Principal Erinn Dougherty said.
Sixty-eight of the graduates plan to attend four-year anniversaries, 35 plan to attend two-year institutions and then transfer or enter trades, and a few more plan to enter the military or California Conservation Corps, Dougherty said.

During the ceremony, Andrew Lepe was named the recipient of the Most Valuable Knight Award.
Some fighter jets coincidentally flying overhead briefly interrupted one of the day’s speeches.
