New program records for Santa Barbara High’s Elina Stump, San Marcos’ girls 4×1,600-meter team and Dos Pueblos’ distance medley relay squad headlined the impressive local performances.

Stump had a historic meet for the Dons, winning the Open Division long jump with a new program-record mark of 18 feet, 11 inches.
She also came in second in the Open triple jump at 37-11 and took ninth in the Open 100-meter hurdles with a lifetime best time of 14.69 seconds.
“Stellar day for Elina,” Santa Barbara High head coach Olivia Perdices said. “This is a venue she loves competing in and she came in ready to get after it. Her season is on a great trajectory right now.”
Meanwhile, Malachi Johnston claimed 10th place in the Open shot put with a throw of 52 feet, 10 inches.
“Malachi had a really consistent series of throws on a big stage today,” Perdices said. “That’s an experience he’ll draw on as the season progresses.”
Santa Barbara High will take on Ventura and Rio Mesa on Wednesday at Ventura High.
San Marcos
The Royals’ girls 4×1,600-meter team of Samara Shalhoub, Autumn Richardson, Layla Llewellyn and Elsie Tuttle set a new program record with a fourth-place finish, shattering the previous record by 47 seconds.

Individually, Logan Patterson Deakyne earned a third-place finish in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.43 seconds.
“Logan ran a great first half of his race, which he has been working on a lot,” Hantgin said. “It’s coming together for him right now. The championship season is going to be a lot of fun. I think this result will motivate him to continue to work on his technique.”
