The Santa Barbara Toba Sister City Organization is seeking applicants to be student ambassadors in its summer exchange program.

This is the 28th year of the Toba Sister City program that annually involves the families of four Santa Barbara students, ages 13-15.

In late July and August, four Japanese students from Toba will visit the homes of four Santa Barbara students for about nine days during Fiesta week.

The following week, the four Santa Barbara host-students will fly to Japan and share nine days in the Japanese students’ homes. Both groups will be accompanied by a chaperone.

The entire experience covers about three weeks.

The Santa Barbara students will be prepared for their experience with language and cultural lessons by members of the Sister City Organization. The cost per student is approximately $2,500. There are partial scholarships available.
