Firefighters kept a vegetation fire in the Cuyama Valley from expanding past three acres on Friday night, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Crews from the county and the U.S. Forest Service responded at 9:51 p.m. to the fire in Aliso Canyon, a mile south of Highway 166.

They were able to stop the forward progress of the flames at 10:21 p.m., said Karen
Cruz-Orduña, county Fire Department spokeswoman.

No injuries were reported, and no structures were damaged or threatened.

Cause of the fire was under investigation.
