The Vikings of Solvang invite the Santa Ynez Valley community to their upcoming Community Blood Drive, 12:30-5:30 p.m., March 18 at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 1745 Mission Drive, Solvang.

The event continues the organization’s long-standing mission to provide medically related aid and strengthen the wellbeing of Santa Barbara County residents.

Held under the leadership of Chief Kim Jensen, the blood drive reflects the Vikings’ commitment to hands-on community service and meaningful local impact, organizers said.

“Donating blood is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to make a difference,” said Jensen. “It’s an act of generosity that can truly save lives and bring our community together. We encourage everyone in the Santa Ynez Valley to join us.”

All eligible donors ages 18 and older are encouraged to participate. Whether a first-time donor or a seasoned contributor, each donation has the potential to save lives while supporting local healthcare needs.

Donors should bring a photo ID and be sure to hydrate before giving blood.

To thank participants, the Vikings of Solvang will provide each donor with a $25 dinner voucher redeemable at a selection of local restaurants.

“Donors are encouraged to invite friends, give back together, and enjoy dinner afterward. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate community while supporting local businesses,” the Vikings said.

Appointments are encouraged to minimize wait times, though walk-ins are welcome as space allows.

The Vikings have partnered with Vitalant Blood Donation to ensure the drive is conducted safely and efficiently, adhering to all health and safety protocols.
