Carlos Alonso, the third baseman and lead-off hitter for Santa Barbara City College this season, has been named to the All-Southern California baseball team.

Alonso started 88 consecutive games over two years, hitting .363 this year and .381 as a freshman on last year’s WSC North championship squad. Alonso was 1st Team All-WSC in 2007 and 2008. He’s being recruited by Utah, Pepperdine, Kansas and Deleware, according to coach Teddy Warrecker.

Bryce Uhrig, a Santa Barbara High School product who was the WSC North Pitcher of the Year for the last two seasons, has been offered a scholarship by Pepperdine and leaves Thursday for a recruiting trip to Oregon.
