George Leis has been elected to the board of directors of the Channel Islands YMCA.
The Channel Islands YMCA is an association of seven YMCA branches serving Santa Barbara and Ventura counties.
Leis is president and CEO of Pacific Capital Bancorp, a community bank holding company that operates 50 branches on the Central Coast of California under the local brand names of Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, First National Bank of Central California, South Valley National Bank, San Benito Bank and First Bank of San Luis Obispo.
In addition to serving on the Channel Islands YMCA board, he serves on numerous boards including the Business School Advisory Board at CSUN, Graziadio School of Business & Management’s Board of Visitors at Pepperdine University and the Santa Barbara Symphony Board of Directors.
The Channel Islands YMCA serves more than 44,000 individuals and provides over $1.2 million in financial assistance to low-income families for child care, YMCA memberships, away camps, youth sports, and teen after-school-programs, and operates Noah’s Anchorage Youth Crisis Shelter, the I.V. Teen Center and Positive Youth Development programs in local schools and organizations.
