One adult was arrested for strong-arm robbery and child endangerment after a fight involving at least one adult and multiple juveniles broke out Wednesday night in Santa Barbara.

Fernando Serrano, 45, of Santa Barbara, was booked at the Santa Barbara Main Jail on a $100,000 bail, according to police.

Officers responded to the intersection of State and Cota streets at around 8:50 p.m. for a report of a large fight downtown.

Lt. Ryan DeJohn said the incident began when one of two adults “approached a juvenile male and became verbally confrontational.”

The adult then “allegedly took a necklace from the juvenile’s neck, prompting a physical altercation.” The necklace was later recovered and returned, per DeJohn.

DeJohn said no serious injuries were reported.

Bystander footage shared with Noozhawk shows at least one adult and what appear to be multiple juveniles involved in a fight.

At one point, a juvenile hits the man. Moments later, another attempts to kick someone lying on the ground.

No additional information about the incident was available.
