Santa Maria police are investigating a homicide after two men were shot and one was killed Saturday night.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 400 block of North Railroad around 11:50 p.m. Saturday and discovered two men with injuries from the shooting, police said Sunday morning.

“Both victims were transported to the hospital for their injuries. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries while the second is in stable condition,” said Sgt. Daniel Rios.

The names of both victims were not released Sunday.
