One person sustained burn injuries in a mobile home fire at Sandpiper Mobile Village in Carpinteria early Saturday, according to the Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Protection District.
Emergency personnel first responded just before 6 a.m. to a report of a residential structure fire on the 3900 block of Via Real.
Firefighters found a “fully involved mobile home with flames blowing through all sides,” Carpinteria-Summerland Fire Chief Dan Stefano said. “CSFD aggressively attacked the fire in a defensive strategy due to the extent of involvement upon arrival.”
The home’s solo occupant had escaped to a nearby building. They were “assessed and initially treated” before being taken to the hospital, Stefano said.

The fire was knocked down within roughly 20 minutes of responders’ arrival, according to fire Battalion Chief Mike Hayek.
The blaze was contained to one structure.
“As a result of the rapid action of the CSFD firefighting resources, the fire was stopped before catching any of the adjacent exposed structures on fire, with only limited damage from the heat exposure noted,” Stefano said.
The Montecito Fire Protection District, Santa Barbara City Fire Department and Ventura County Fire Department assisted on the incident.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office was also on scene to help with traffic control and nearby evacuations.

The city of Carpinteria Building and Safety Department was present to assess damages, Stefano said. Local utility companies and the Sandpiper Mobile Village property management company have been contacted.
No other injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
