One person was killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 154 near Stagecoach Road Tuesday morning, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Emergency responders reported a 5:24 a.m. vehicle collision on the highway.
A sedan and a SUV had collided, with major injuries reported and the entire highway briefly closed during the response, County Fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
The sedan driver was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with moderate injuries and the passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, Safechuck said.
In the other vehicle, the SUV driver was transported to the hospital by American Medical Response ambulance with minor injuries.

A section of Highway 154 was closed in both directions for several hours and reopened around 9:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.
