The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Human Resources Bureau hosted entry-level physical and written exams on May 18 at the Ventura Law Enforcement Academy.

There were 106 applicants who underwent the testing for multiple positions available in the Sheriff deputy trainee, custody deputy and Sheriff’s service technician positions.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office utilizes both the Allan Hancock Law Enforcement Academy and Ventura Law Enforcement Academy for recruits who pass the rigorous process.

The Sheriff’s Office has on-going recruitment for multiple positions and will be testing for Sheriff’s deputy trainee, custody deputy and Sheriff’s service technician again in August at the Allan Hancock Academy facility in Lompoc.

There are a number of other positions the Sheriff’s Office will be recruiting for in coming months as the Northern Branch Jail facility nears completion.

Those jobs, such as Sheriff’s administrative support, jail cook, utility worker, storekeeper, park ranger-grounds, and other support staff positions will be announced in the next few months.
