The San Marcos junior varsity girls’ soccer team played Tuesday afternoon to a 0-0 tie against Oak Park.
It was especially impressive considering the Royals had many players nursing injuries or resting in preparation for Thursday’s afternoon match and Saturday’s tournament play.
Several individuals were impressive, including Holly Emerson, Tara Pederson and Sofi Castanon. They were very creative with the ball and made great runs.
On the other side of the ball, Darlene Pinnock and Kaylin Koopsman turned in excellent performances, and Koopsman turned in her second straight shutout.
