Reports of a shooting in Lompoc led to lockdowns at two schools on Thursday afternoon.
Emergency dispatchers received multiple calls regarding a shooting west of Lompoc High School at 12:24 p.m., Sgt. Jorge Magana of the Lompoc Police Department said.
Callers said two subjects were involved but immediately fled the area after the shooting, Magana said.
Officers discovered evidence of a shooting in the 1000 block of West College Avenue but did not locate any victims, Magana added.
The suspects remain outstanding, Magana said.
Lompoc High School and Clarence Ruth Elementary School were locked down for a time Thursday afternoon as a precaution because of the shooting, police said.
