The Lompoc Police Department swore in two new police officers, Officers Daniel Raymond and Elias Flores, during a ceremony recognizing their commitment to public service and the community of Lompoc.
Family, friends, department members, and community supporters gathered to celebrate the beginning of their law enforcement careers and welcome them to the department.
Raymond is now a third-generation law officer who developed an early interest in policing and public service through his experience as a police cadet during high school.
Through that experience, he gained an understanding of service, responsibility and teamwork while continuing a family legacy dedicated to serving others.
Through his connection to the Lompoc community and his desire to make a positive impact, Raymond chose to begin his law enforcement career with the Lompoc Police Department.
Flores said he felt called to serve his community in a direct and meaningful way and joins the department with a strong sense of discipline, professionalism, and dedication to serving others.
Motivated by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the community and help create a safer environment for those around him, Flores pursued a career in law enforcement with the goal of serving the public with integrity and compassion.Â
“As officers Raymond and Flores begin their careers with the Lompoc Police Department, they will enter the department’s field training program and continue developing the skills necessary to serve the community with professionalism, integrity, and compassion,” the department said.
