Two people — including a juvenile — have been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred earlier this month in Lompoc, according to the Lompoc Police Department.

Investigators, aided by members of the Police Department’s SWAT team, served search and arrest warrants Friday on a residence in Lompoc, Sgt. Scott Morgan said.

They took David Lutagardo Acosta, 20, into custody without incident, Morgan said.

During the search, detectives located two firearms, three magazines and ammunition, Morgan said. He added that one of the firearms had a “switch” affixed to it, making the semi-automatic weapon fully automatic.

Acosta was booked at the Lompoc jail on suspicion of attempted murder, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, and a gang enhancement.

His bail was set at $1,040,000.

Police have not released any details about the shooting, including when and where it occurred, or whether anyone was injured.

On Saturday, a second suspect in the shooting was located by officers near Laurel Avenue and H Street in Lompoc.

“A foot pursuit ensued,” Morgan said, “and the suspect was ultimately caught in the 500 block of North G Street.”

The 15-year-old boy was arrested on a warrant, Morgan said, and was booked into Juvenile Hall.

Officers searched the area where the teen was taken into custody and found a loaded firearm.

Anyone who has information about this case, or was potentially affected, is asked to contact Detective David Magana at 805.736.2341.
