A Goleta resident escaped injury after a vehicle drove into their home Monday night, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department said.
Around 11:40 p.m., a Honda Accord drove into a single family residence on the 6200 block of Cathedral Oaks Road, near Carlo Drive.

One resident was home at the time of the collision, but was not injured, County Fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.
“The structure was shored up and secured using lumber by SBC USAR (urban search and rescue) members from stations 11 and 14,” Safechuck said.
Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested the vehicle’s driver on suspicion of driving under the influence, spokesperson Raquel Zick said Tuesday afternoon.
Goleta resident Nehemiah Verhoef, 23, “failed to negotiate a left-hand turn from Cathedral Oaks to southbound Carlo (Drive), driving over a crosswalk activator and into a residence,” Zick said in a statement.
Deputies determined he was under the influence of alcohol, she said, and he was arrested at the scene.
The passenger of the vehicle “attempted to hide opened containers of alcohol from deputies prior to their arrival” and was also arrested, she added.
Both men were booked into jail and then cite released, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
