Two people were injured, one critically, in a multi-vehicle collision on a Highway 101 offramp near Goleta Friday evening.
The crash involving five vehicles occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on the southbound freeway offramp at Turnpike Road, according to Capt. Daniel Bertucelli of the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
Two victims required extrication by county firefighters to free them from the wreckage, Bertucelli said.
One person with major injuries and another with moderate injuries were taken by AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, he added.
Their names and details on their conditions were not available.
The offramp was shut down following the crash, which remained under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
