Three people were transported to the hospital Saturday night with moderate injuries after a 3-vehicle traffic collision on Highway 135 near Orcutt, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokesperson Karen Cruz-Orduña.

Emergency personnel first responded to the southbound side of the highway between Shirley Lane and E. Foster Road at around 7:42 p.m.

Cruz-Orduña said the collision involved two sedans and one pick-up truck.

One person in the first sedan had to be extracted. Two people in the first sedan and one person in the second sedan were transported to the hospital by ground ambulance, Cruz-Orduña said.

The driver of the pick-up truck declined treatment, per Cruz-Orduña.

The collision forced a brief closure of the southbound side of the highway, which reopened before 9 p.m.
