Four people were injured Friday night in a multiple-vehicle crash in the southeastern Lompoc Valley.

Shortly after 6 p.m., emergency personnel from several agencies responded to a crash on Highway 246 near Mission Gate Road, according to Karen Cruz-Orduña, spokeswoman for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Three vehicles were involved in the crash, and one person had to be extricated from the wreckage, she added.

Three people had moderate injuries, with two taken to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.

Another patient was transported to Lompoc Valley Medical Center.

A fourth patient refused treatment, Cruz-Orduña said.

In addition to the county firefighters, other personnel dispatched to the incident included members of the Lompoc Fire Department, the California Highway Patrol and American Medical Response.

The segment of Highway 246 east of Lompoc was closed because of the crash and investigation.

Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.

California Highway Patrol officers from the Buellton area were investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The Friday night crash was among multiple this week in the Lompoc Valley, including one on Highway 1 that killed a 19-year-old driver and left another driver with critical injuries.
