Four people were transported to the emergency room with injuries after a pickup truck slammed into a Highway 101 overpass support pillar in Goleta Monday afternoon, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.
The crash was reported just after 2 p.m. on the Patterson Avenue southbound offramp.
Two adults and two children suffered moderate to severe injuries in the crash, and were all transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital’s emergency room by American Medical Response ambulance, County Fire officials said.

The California Highway Patrol does not suspect drugs or alcohol caused the crash, but the agency is investigating allegations of “aggressive driving,” according to Sgt. Keith Rogers.
Rogers reported that the female driver of the truck sustained major injuries and the male passenger sustained moderate injuries. Two minors were also in the truck. The male juvenile received moderate injuries, and the female juvenile was in critical condition, according to Rogers.
The southbound Highway 101 offramp at Patterson Avenue was closed after the crash while the CHP conducted its investigation.
Rogers said CHP is still cleaning up the area, but the ramp was expected to reopen Monday evening.
The CHP reportedly had the vehicle towed for evidence.
No additional details were available.
